"Day to Day, January 29, 2008 · Librarian Anna "Jeanne" Layton defied a Davis County, Utah, commission in 1979 by keeping a banned book on her library's shelf. She was fired for her decision but took her case to federal court — and won. Layton died Saturday. She was 77. "
