I've been working on my lesson plans for the class sessions that will be held on Second Life for my LIS research methods class in the coming fall. So far I could only see SL as an approriate place for methodologies like interview and participant observation. I plan to send my students over to Info Island to interview the librarians there; or if they want more fun, they could go to a gathering place for a special population (such as a gay club) for their participant observation practice.
I still need to work out the details and hopefully my students can learn effectively in this immersive world.
